Udann is the story of Chakor, who was initiated into the practice of bonded labour even before she was born. The serial aims to generate awareness about the evils of child labour and emphasises on the needs of a child’s education When Chakor’s grandfather dies while she is still in her mother’s womb, she is traded as a bonded labourer to Bhaiyaji. The money was paid for the funeral. After seven years, Chakor is brought to Bhaiyaji’s residence where her struggle for freedom and education begins. Chakor is helped by several people in the process, especially Ishwar Rawat, a collector from Lucknow. The story intrigues audiences with Chakor’s fearlessness in the face of all her woes and they wait to see the day when finally Chakor flies away.
